I Have It!!!!

In the makeup business, as in any other business, there is always something to learn.  You will never stop learning and there is always ways to improve.  I am at a place now in my career where I really want to focus on improving my skills. The people that I work closest with and that really know my passion, tell me that I have what it takes to be very successful.  I want to believe that but I am doubting some of my skills and wanting to make a bigger impact on the world around me.  I know that I learned very quickly how to apply makeup and how to do certain looks on different face and eye shapes.  I just want to do more.  I want to be the best here in Nashville.  My current job has given me so many skills and so much knowledge about makeup applications and techniques.  I want more.  I am dedicating more time and effort to studying the makeup world and the great international artists that have made a mark in the industry.  There will never be too much for me to know.  There are still things that I want to perfect on my own makeup application.  I need to focus a little more on the skin and different techniques to applying products.  It is something that I am dedicating to for myself.  I believe in my company and I believe that I will make it to the top.  There is no stopping me from being up there with the greatest artists.  I have what it takes! I am who I need to be!!! There is no stopping me now :-)

In The Makeup Game

It has been a long time since I posted.  Life has definitely been keeping me busy and now I think this is just the beginning to some bigger and better things.  I got married to the most amazing man I have ever met, other than my father, last September and being a newlywed has consumed a little of my time.  We are building our lives together and we are determining the steps to reach our goals together.  He has been so supportive and been a main factor in the success of my business.  I am truly grateful for such a strong influence in my life.
My main focus is to change the makeup world, starting here in Nashville, Tennessee. I have been practicing my skills with some very wonderful ladies and I have been researching makeup trends to try to perfect my craft.  I have also been following an amazing makeup artist in Atlanta by the name of Alexandra Butler.  Her skills are so great and she is so down to earth.  I hope to take a one on one class with her sometime this summer. She has definitely changed the game when it comes to makeup.  I also have been following Beat Face Honey's career in makeup.  She went from a freelance artist to now doing makeup for celebrity Brandy Norwood just by letting her fans know how much she wanted the chance to do makeup for Brandy.  Brady saw her work and hired her for her services.  Thats what I want.  I want to reach my goal and be doing makeup full time.  I currently know the things that I need to work on and I have the drive and determination to keep going till I reach the top. I feel like I am almost there.  I love what I do and I am so blessed with every opportunity that comes my way.  It is such a blessing to just do what you love.  I am not letting anything hold me back. I know that my health has always made me cautious of what I do because I never know when my asthma will flare up and cause me to just rest, but I love the fact that I can just do what I can when I can and I am good at it.  Take a glance at some of my most recent work.

What's Been Going On

I have been so busy lately with doing makeup and trying to build my name in this business.  Because it is May, I have been doing so many prom and wedding makeup applications which has been such a highlight.  All the different looks, all the different personalities have been so great for me and making myself more comfortable on my toes.  To have these women trust me with such important days is such a blessing. I can honestly say that I am feeling more confident in my skills since I have had all these people trust me.  I want to continue to grow and learn but I am at a point now where I am unsure of my next step.  I wonder if I should go to school for esthetics, try to apply to be a full time MAC employee, or if I should focus more on building my name and my company.  I think any direction that I go will definitely benefit me somehow.  I am so blessed to have such a great support system.  I have people in my life who genuinely believe in me and all that I am able to accomplish.  Thank you LORD for the blessings that you have sent my way.

New Projects

Its 2012!!!

Its January of 2012 and its going to be an exciting year.  I have come such a long way with my makeup career aspirations.  I am truly blessed for each and every opportunity that I am provided.  I am so happy that so many people saw my talent and took a chance to allow me to showcase my work to them on special occasions. I work with the BEST PHOTOGRAPHER IN NASHVILLE: PORCHE B!!!!  The opportunities that she has included me on and the professionalism she always provides will definitely keep our business and personal relationship close. 
I am so excited to share that I am currently working on my business plan for my company.  I see such a bright future for myself and I see that GOD has great things in line for me.  It definitely will be a challenge to establish myself and my business within the area but I am prepared to make a mark in Nashville and hopefully one day, beyond.

What's New

There has been so much going on lately in my life and I am so glad to finally have a moment to update.  I am continuing to strive in my makeup career. I feel like I have come such a long way from just last year on my skills, techniques and application.  I have picked up several hours at MAC and I am loving and learning from the experience.  I constantly observe my co-workers and the things that they do and I have taken little things from each of them. I would love to gain a part-time position or even make it to full time within the company and I think its just a matter of time before I  make my move up.  I never take for granted the things and the experiences that I am blessed with.  Each shift, I am learning and its great!!! I am on the verge of building my portfolio and my kit to serve all clients.  I am becoming more comfortable with other skin tones and complexions than the ones I am used to.

Lately, I have been working really well with a photographer.  She has gotten me in the field more and provided many makeup jobs.  From those experiences, I have been able to build my portfolio to a wonderful display of the way I have grown.

But aside from trying to build my career, I have been trying to work on my health and to plan our wedding. So, I guess I have been a little busy, lol
